Light Curvature

   Chrome shell
Structural element
Decorative bending

I ndividuate different forms of existence. This is a composition featuring a large chrome sculpture called "Cloud Gate" in Millennium Park, Chicago. Shot in the morning on a Saturday, it had attracted lots of attention, with a crowd of the curious milling about. I had to work hard to isolate the essence and eliminate unnecessary visual clutter. The object has contingency while retaining its identity, shaped by its relationship to the environment.

“Modernity is the transitory, the fugitive, the contingent, which make up one half of art, the other being the eternal and the immutable. This transitory fugitive element, which is constantly changing, must not be despised or neglected.” - Charles Baudelaire
