I t was a beautiful winter night, featuring a very bright gibbous moon and high wispy clouds, which reduced the number of traceable stars available to only the most intense. On the surface of the lake, a thin skim of newly formed ice created wonderful reflection patterns. Although the ambient conditions were initially windy, once the sun set, the atmosphere became clam and quite. Perfect conditions to contemplate the human condition situated on a planet spinning in space. The power of experiencing our position relative to the cosmos is profound, placing much of human culture into perspective. The universe is large.

“There is an orderliness in the universe, there is an unalterable law governing everything and every being that exists or lives.” - Mohandas Gandhi
