xpressing doubt about the continued viability of the notion of progress, Postmodernism is intrinsically pessimistic. If I were to subscribe to this ideology, then there would be no reason to continue to make art. There certainly would be no reason to invest time, energy, and resources in working towards an MFA degree. In fact, as an artist and as a sentient entity, I not only embrace the possibility of progress, but also consider its attainment an imperative. It is the desire for continued improvement that drives my creative production.
