E ye on the ground, all art is about ideas. Visual art is about ideas that result from retinal sensation. Created principally for aesthetics and concept, fine art exists not for practical application, but rather for the purity of the discipline. Thus, fine artistic stimulation directing a viewer to think about something must be impractical. Under any synoptical event horizon, however, it is useful to have an explanation grounding artistic activities.
