Boxed in by horizontal bands, this diptych relationship invokes abstraction by the process of formulating generalities not associated with any specific instance by extracting common features from specific instances. The color field flatness, once decoded to a road environmental study with spatial clues, creates a dimension depth jump. Many of the places established to accommodate the automobile are alien and uninhabitable. A stenciled word symbol adds another layer of meaning, not necessarily coupled to first impressions, yet on further reflection works well as a dystopia label.
