bstract theory describes a system without specifying a structure. This idea of a disorganized system is interesting, since by definition systems have structure, as established by components and their composition. If we eliminate structure from the system equation, then what is left? Systems also have interconnectivity, behavior, function, and boundary. How these attributes can exist without structure eludes me. Nevertheless, I like to make intellectual and affective artistic content that depends solely on intrinsic form rather than on narrative content or pictorial representation.
“My freedom will be so much the greater and more meaningful the more narrowly I limit my field of action and the more I surround myself with obstacles…The more constraints one imposes, the more one frees one's self of the chains that shackle the spirit.” - Igor Stravinsky
