I s the value of art inherently dependent on judgment, and by what criteria? To what extent should an artist cater to an audience? One answer to these questions postulates that aesthetic quality possesses an absolute value independent of human interpretation. Alternatively, art might function based on an absolute value dependent on innate human characteristics. In these two cases, the artist need not consider the audience. However, the archive provides ample evidence these two concepts are invalid. The record clearly shows that art evaluations are not absolute, but contingent on differential human experience. Everything is sophomoric to a sophomore.
