kepticism is a fundamental tenet of the scientific method, maintained in the desire that the logical process will lead to greater convergence on the truth. Scientific knowledge does not invoke a claim to certainty, but rather a method of continuous approach towards veracity. In this paradigm, truth is considered as existing outside of the human condition. Other scholarly views hold that truth is nothing but a human construct, and thus when mankind becomes extinct truth will vanish.
“Truth is to be understood as a system of ordered procedures for the production, regulation, distribution, circulation and operation of statements. Truth is linked in a circular relation with systems of power which produce and sustain it, and to effects of power which it induces and which extend it.” - Michel Foucault
