alking around Burlington, I photographed with my small Canon Powershot S50 camera, while thinking about the issues that materialized in the many recent art critiques. The old digital camera was slow to respond, either because of the cold temperature or because of weak batteries. This meant that the shutter would open well after its activation. The result was blurred images of unintended subjects. Most were bad, but some of them were surprisingly interesting and worthy. Questions concerning creative purpose, image aesthetics, and what constitutes desirable photographic appearance become manifest.
