n a monochromatic abstraction state of mind, visual art makes a visual declaration. It cannot really be described in words, but rather only obliquely discussed. Thus, we can make reference to but can never fully articulate what a visual work is, or what it means, because it is a visual statement. We must have a visual experience for comprehension.
