Passing Moment

   It just rained
Spontaneous sun
Across the lake

L asting for less than a minute, the low sun in the western sky broke through the clouds to illuminate the opposite shore at Maple Leaf Lake on Friday. The wet fall foliage suddenly was highly saturated against the dark storm clouds to the immediate east. Captured with my 300mm lens shooting handheld, I decided to deploy the tripod for stability with a longer exposure and neutral density for even more saturation and to smooth the lake surface. However, by the time the legs were extended and the camera in place, the sun was again cloud covered and the moment was past, not to be repeated.
