ynaesthetic cognition, translucent windows in the communal bathroom strike a cord. One of the major tenants of conceptual art is the notion that it is the responsibility of the artist to question the nature of art. I take my obligations seriously. One of the means by which I practice the craft is to find art in the most unlikely of places, and then decontextualize the extracted result. This always places the viewer in a position of disorientation, wondering what they are observing. Is it a photograph, and if so what is depicted? However, in so doing I cannot abandon the aesthetic, for if an image is not attractive by definition, nobody will engage in the visual discourse. When you exist in an ocean of images, only the interesting will elicit awareness.
