lementary things are not so simple. If there were no matter, would space be nonexistent? In other words, if no objects exist would space still exist? Does space have an independent characteristic, without relation to anything external? Can space, the void between objects, affect those objects it engulfs? Or do objects affect the nature of space? Since art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way to affect the senses or emotions, these questions of space are valuable to consider.
“Space-time is primarily an absolute four dimensional continuum of events. When devoid of matter and energy its structure is flat. When matter is present, the flat structure yields gently both around matter and in its interior.” - A. D'Abro
