nother glorious day in the middle of the rural Missouri countryside, as the sun climbs and my muscles prepare for the miles ahead. Bike riding on the Katy Trail is euphoric, and the mental stimulation of moving across the heartland at a steady pace is addicting. It is always a shock when the school year begins and the nutritious diet of repetitive daylong physical exertion ends. Nevertheless, the memory will linger until the next season, now on the far horizon.
