t the base of a hill near a stream, vigorous trees can find an ecological niche on the tall grass prairie. The periodic fires clear out the underbrush and allow the native grasses to grown under the trees in a natural arboretum arrangement. Rendered in infrared, the dark tree trunks contrast brilliantly with the abundant foliage. This is a thoroughly satisfying place to be.
