season in transition. Early spring color at Kearn is here rendered, as I hiked about halfway around North Lake. The sky was stormy and the sun never really did break through, although the clouds did thin out to the north. Last year's brown grasses contrasted well with the newly emerging green growth as woodpeckers hammered on the dead trees out in the middle of the lake.
