Diffraction Dispersion

   Narrow opening
Wavelength phase velocity
Displacement vectors

T he edge of a pinhole bends radiation, causing it to spread out slightly after emerging from the orifice. This phenomenon is known as diffraction. When imaging a strong point source from an acute angle, like the sun, diffracting wavelengths can become differentiated based on wavelength/frequency. Under such conditions the color spectrum of light magically materializes. Or at least average humans are configured to perceptually respond to isolated wavelength sensations as colored light.

“The color of truth is gray.” - Andre Gide Marcus
