Irises | Dense clump Perennial herbs Creeping rhizomes |
T
hings are rapidly greening-up as we hurtle headlong into spring. I found this healthy group of emerging Irises on the shore of North Lake at Kearn Memorial Wildlife Area. I wonder if they are a naturally occurring indigenous species, or have escaped from someone's yard. In any event, I like the way they modify light and provide an interesting foreground textural pattern.
