oday's image marks the start of a new geometrical abstract creative project entitled “framed.” The series will explore a simple rectangle shape positioned within a larger rectangular boundary. Enclosed by this minimalistic structure is an organized chaos of formal art elements and principles: line, texture, color, value, form, space, balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, proportion, rhythm, unity and variety. Primarily addressing relationships of interior characteristics influenced by exterior environments, the temperament of the inevitable interface juncture remains inexplicable. Visual elements from each shape domain subtly overlap, yet each maintains a uniquely independent identity. This venture is an effort to create post-modern abstract art, which might be considered an oxymoron in some rarefied spheres of influence.
