Clouds and Stars

   Suspended in

The atmosphere

H igh thin clouds moving along with the upper level airstreams visually work well with long exposures in concert with star trails. This is another example of recognizing image potential of conditions which require pre-visualization. Shooting digitally does provide periodic feed-back in the field after each 20 minute exposure, but the full image potential is not realized until after post-processing. Night shooting really hones photographic skills which carry over to other less demanding circumstances. There is an art involved with balancing creative activities so as to maximize both artistic development and output quality.

“Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.” - William A. Foster
