A t the time, the bright full moon seemed to be reducing the star/sky contrast so much that I felt the outcome of the evening's efforts would be disappointing. But after processing, I was happy with the results, especially the colors as the sky graduated from the horizon upward. Shot with my Sigma wide angle zoom at 12mm, this image reminds me of the unique capabilities of this ultra wide rectilinear lens. After producing this creative product, I will have to take this optic on my Flint Hills trip next week, even though it is relatively big and heavy. It has a diagonal viewing angle of 122 degrees, compared to my other main star trail lens, the fine and compact Olympus 21mm, with a diagonal viewing angle of only 91.7 degrees. That is a significant difference.

“At some point we've got to stop asking ourselves what is the meaning of everything, maybe it's not so very important what it means. It's probably more important what the sense of it is.. they are two very basic and different things.” - Willem de Kooning
