n transit to Pape Lake for an evening of star trails, traveling north on route 23, a long section of white fencing parallel to the road provides visual delight. Anticipating potential favorable image capture conditions, my camera was set and ready as we approached. Snapping a series of quick reflex shots out the front windshield, this rendering best expressed the experience. It is nice to make satisfying photographs even before reaching the chosen venue. When exposing out the front of my Ford Explorer, I have learned to use the window glass tinting as a graduated color sky filter.
