eather event. Cold day, pale sun, far distant trees lined up low at the bottom of the frame. This image evokes the bleakness and solitude sometimes associated with winter. As I write is post, the current outside temperature is -8 degrees Fahrenheit, unusually cold for this location. Weather is chaotic and no valid conclusion about climate can be extrapolated from isolated circumstances, however extreme. Climate change can only be indentified based on long term trends, perhaps on a geological scale beyond human understanding. If you go back far enough, the area depicted in this photograph was at the bottom of the sea. Nothing ever happens for any one reason.
“Climate is what we expect, weather is what we get.” - Mark Twain
