s another Maple Leaf Lake nocturnal photo-shoot came to an end, I made one last fifteen minute exposure towards the south. As it is sometimes interesting to include foreground elements juxtaposed against the cosmic backdrop, I positioned the floating pier in the frame and illuminated it with my LED Surefire flashlight. As I gain more experience working with the stars and long exposures, my expectation of the consequences becomes more confident. During the exposure I had occasion to wonder why modern DSLR camera have a “B” or bulb setting but not a “T” or timed setting, which is much more convenient.
