eing an officious life form, we tend to categorize and define our immediate spaces. Essentially we construct our own little mental cocoon of security. When considered from a broad perspective, however, the entire planet can be construed as a fragile recreational area. Rarely do we give much thought to the fact we are situated on the side of a rapidly spinning rock, which travels about 1000 miles an hour at the equator. Should the earth suddenly stop spinning, the atmosphere would continue merrily along, stripping everything off the surface.
“Man is an artifact designed for space travel. He is not designed to remain in his present biologic state any more than a tadpole is designed to remain a tadpole.” - William Burroughs
