A
second trip to the Kearn Wildlife Area for another round of night photography offered up just a few star trail image opportunities before a cloud bank rolled in. This time I went to the second smaller lake just prior to sunset and positioned myself for the shot. These long nighttime exposures are a natural extension of my daytime neutral density filter work. A Surefire Titan flashlight was used to throw illumination on the foreground rocks. Evolving into a nocturnal photographer is demanding and is significantly affecting my sleep patterns.
“I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.” - Vincent Van Gogh
