ermutations of style. As night descended, I began to shoot defocused with my 28mm f1.9 Vivitar Series One prime lens. The painterly blurs of saturated color on the camera LCD were alluring, and I quickly made many captures to maximize the small window of opportunity as lighting conditions rapidly evolved. In post production, I decided that a multi-image matrix arrangement would best present the experience. Moving beyond the ridged limitations of sharply focused photography, a wondrous world of artistic exploration becomes accessible. These vague anthropomorphic shapes placed within a sympathetic color medley are abstract yet decipherable. They evoke the feeling of having been in a specific place at an explicit time, or in an indistinct place at an ambiguous time.
