A
long time ago, I made a series of gum bichromate prints using carbon powder as the pigment. It is a process which is based on the fact that potassium dichromate is light sensitive and when incorporated into colloids such as gelatin or gum arabic, will cause differential insolubility. This infrared motion blur capture of tree trunks which are agreeably spaced-out reminds me of the tactile feel of those early prints. The highlight streaks add an element of complexity to an otherwise simple composition.
