merging from disparate points. A late day hike on an extremely muddy trail was rewarded by the discovery of an old iron bridge across a small stream. This view of the creek was made from the center of the overpass looking downstream to the south. The sky was cloudy and the ambient light was dim and flat, but this condition moderated the fall colors offering a subtle rendering. Although admittedly restrained, this imagery provides its own special pleasure. It has an appearance reminiscent of pointillism, a style of painting in which small distinct dots of color create the impression of blending a wide range of other colors.
