Pleasure Wheel East | Ups-and-downs Vertical rotating Reveling sideshow |
O
f course I always like to work with the Ferris Wheel when photographing the Fair, especially as the night approaches and the artificial lights illuminate. This year there was only one large upright rotating wheel, located in approximately the middle of the carnival midway grounds. For an image like this, in which only the moving objects in the scene are rendered with motion blur, a tripod is required. As a further refinement of visual effect, I made a series of exposures with different shutter speeds giving different degrees of circular smear, and then used those to generate an HDR composite image. The phantom people in the foreground provide a nice surrealistic touch.
