hy is a manhole cover round? At the Kansas City International Airport, waiting for the budget parking shuttle bus, I noticed the yellow lines painted on the roadway along with a plugged utility access chamber. Composing a few images at various angles, I thought I might have fodder for a diptych. Sure enough, these two renderings go together delightfully. Without having to do any retouching, the seam between the two images disappears almost completely. This effort falls into the category of a color field geometrical textured abstract work which addresses issues of spatial perception.
