Wasps Minty Fresh | Attractive to many Insects seek nectar Stick to a schedule |
T
he mint plants in my backyard are blooming and as usual are drawing a large crowd of varied insects. The "Vivitar Series 1 Flat Field Macro Zoom 90-180mm f/4.5" lens allows for a generous working distance, so I did not disturb the little critters with my presence. I shot for about an hour and filled up a compact flash card while functioning from the same position. The sun was hot and I worked up quite the sweat, but was rewarded by this image of Vespidae activity.
“Short, simple, pointed, keen, and bright - A lively little thing!
Like wasp with taper body, bound
By lines - not many - neat and round
All ending in a sting” - B. Standring
