hypothesis approaches the truth. Many photographers operating at conventional levels of understanding are most concerned with rendering reality. Whether or not reality is observable or comprehensible, it must include everything that is. All shapes formed by radiation at the sensor plane are real regardless of their degree of convergence. Optically controlling detail by careful focus selection is photographic behavior in its purest form. Having a deeper appreciation of the elusiveness of reality opens up many more artistic doors.
“Art must take reality by surprise.” - F. Sagan
