everal years ago I transplanted a small Columbine to a corner of my decorative garden. Subsequently a large pine tree nearby died and had to be removed, changing the sunlight pattern of the area. The Columbine resettlement has thrived and propagated under these new conditions, creating a large patch of interesting blooms which have been attracting hummingbirds. This image was shot with a Nikon 55mm f1.2 lens on a bellows to present a close-up featuring shallow depth-of-field. Tomorrow I will post an even more extreme example.
“An elfin piper, piping sweet,
A little tune for those light feet
That dance among the leaves and flowers
In someone's garden” - Cicely Mary Barker
