ide open spaciousness coupled with softness of the tall grasses undulating with the wind combine for a peaceful easy feeling. A visit to the natural prairie is therapeutic, simultaneously soothing and stimulating. Fortunately we still have a few small remnants of this majestic landscape preserved. It is hard to imagine what this continent was like before the European invasion. Not only were whole civilizations destroyed, but the entire ecosystem was irrevocably altered.
