Designed to Impress | Farmers & Drovers Bank Indicator Building Council Grove |
T
his absolutely beautiful structure, representative of the late eclectic Victorian style, is still being operated as a bank in Council Grove, Kansas. Built in 1892 on the site where the old Santa Fe stage station stood, the place radiates history. To render this image required extensive retouching to remove electrical wires and utility poles, but the end result justified the effort. On my next visit, I must make it a priority to go inside to check out the interior. In fact, maybe I will open up an account; although not a farmer, I may qualify as a drover.
“My mind is aglow with whirling, transient nodes of thought careening thru a cosmic vapor of invention.” - Hedley Lamarr
