ate last summer, while on a trip to Arkansas, I spent some time getting close to the Mighty Miss. This part of the river has been reconfigured by the Army Corps of Engineers to perform two functions: float barges and expel floods. At this point the river now seems to be transformed into primarily a huge canal. Mark Twain would not be a happy camper.
