ntense color passing through a tunnel of blur, take a walk on the wild side. Here optics and post processing team up to create the surreal. This image, captured in the hallway outside my office, is somewhat reminiscent of a style popularized by the famous English Romantic landscape artist, Joseph Mallord William Turner. Turner studied the science of light and color, and his mature work is characterized by wide chromatic atmospheric washes of paint. Liberating himself from all past artist traditions and art movements, amongst his contemporaries he was unique. Seems like a fine reference source.
“Turner does not depict objects, but rather the process of seeing itself – and thus he represents a way of world-creation which is characteristic of modernity.” - Monika Schmitz-Emans
