A
simple bike shadow cast on a brick wall provided some visual entertainment on a walk to lunch. It is interesting how shadow shapes of objects are distorted based on angular positioning of source light and receiver surfaces. Although only a region of darkness or absence of light, earlier in human history shadows were viewed as a substance in their own right. An unattended shadow was thought by some cultures to be similar to a ghost - a glimmer of a life unable to end for some reason.
