hot with a 75mm zone plate, Truman Lake at the Deepwater Branch is rendered soft and mystical. The zone plate's focusing ability offers evidence for the wave nature of light. Unlike standard pinholes, zone plates are more like conventional refractive lenses in that they exhibit a hyperfocal distance establishing a plain of "sharpest" focus. Currently I have four zone plates, each offering different focus characteristics. I have plans for many more zone plate designs on the drawing board, along with an idea for a zone plate zoom mechanism.
