Warm Winter Hike | Four ponds Eighty acres Well landscaped |

esterday Karen and I visited Jane, Bill and Snowshoe at their country estate southeast of Warrensburg. After a pleasant and delicious meal, we all ventured forth to survey the manor. Atypically warm for late December and quite windy, the ground was soft and muddy from surface thawing. Alignment of forces, it felt great to be out walking around and the opportunity provided further explorations of the relationship between the landscape and art creation. Color, line, form, and texture are all basic elements of landscape design, while proportion, transition and unity are some of the principles that rely on those elements. The formal must always be balanced with the conceptual.
