rees and windows nicely relate in this view of a downtown Topeka structure and its environs. The bright foliage as rendered in infrared provides an otherworldly atmosphere. It sort of seems futuristic in a sci-fi kind of way, although the traffic light on the right tends to anchor it in the here and now.
Today's history lesson: the reflective infrared glow of foliage is often referred to as the “Wood effect”, referring to Robert Williams Wood, a pioneer in the field of infrared imaging. He is characterized as the "father of both infrared and ultraviolet photography".
