his is the first image made using a new lensless optic – a Photon Sieve! I made the sieve by creating an image in Photoshop of a pinhole surrounded by a series of concentric rings of smaller pinholes and outputting it on the imagesetter in electronic prepress. You can see exactly what this looks like here. Cutting out the optic and mounting it on my 5D by way of a T-mount adapter provides a wonderful creative experience. I really like the character of the image structure as delivered by the sieve and look forward to further explorations along this rich path.
