utside the very center of gaze. This glimpse of a brightly lit building was the catalyst for a drive-by-shooting with my fast 55mm f1.2 Nikor lens. Judicious motion-blur and effective complementary colors dominate an atmospheric capture which for me evokes peripheral vision perception. The eye can be considered as a double system: the line-of-sight foveal structure delivers several high quality images per second, while the peripheral system delivers up to 90 blurred images per second. The rod cells have a much faster response time than the cone cells.
