ere is an image captured with an extremely fast two element lens fabricated in my optical laboratory. I designed it as a single-aperture, fixed-focus, wide-open, fat-barreled affair, with glass elements having a diameter approximately the same as the camera throat. Copious spherical aberration creates low contrast atmospheric images with an overall shimmering haze supporting multiple levels of complexity. It renders bright sunny days as misty dreamscapes evoking alternate realities, thus providing access to a parallel universe.
