n entity marking the limits of spatial units, having the power to include or exclude. This is the first in a short miniseries of portal images – the interface between two environments. Of course they fit into a much larger collection of door images, a subject which has attracted my attention for many years. I am always interested in boundaries, and these junctures are obvious physical representations of transition points.
