Capital

   Imaginary principal
First in importance
Power or influence

A n old art deco movie theater found in Greeneville, Tennessee is detailed in today's image. I was told that the premier of the famous original 1955 movie “Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier” was held at the Capital, complete with appearances from the actors including Fess Parker! I wonder what ever happened to my coonskin hat.

“In the 1952 presidential election, Tennessee senator Estes Kefauver campaigned for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination clad in a coonskin cap. Kefauver received 3.1 million votes, while Adlai Stevenson the eventual 1952 Democratic presidential nominee received only 78,000 votes. Presidential primary victories do not automatically lead to the nomination itself.” - Joseph Bruce Gorman
