C urrently drive-by shooting in infrared will always result in a level of motion blur due to restrictions in exposure settings imposed by my primary ir camera, the Sony Cybershot F828. But I get pleasure from the challenge of converting limitations into creative advantage, and recognize that exploring such boundaries has the potential of stimulating artistic growth. In this case, exaggerated relative movement induced by the rapidly traveling vehicle elongated objects in a horizontal axis. To compensate, I employed a new “seam carving” image resizing algorithm in post production. This algorithm adjusts image dimensions not by scaling or cropping, but rather by intelligently removing pixels that carry little importance. This technology will be incorporated into the next Photoshop release.
