Baum Iron

   Wholesale distributor
Heavy hardware
Since 1857

M anifest destiny. Appropriately the Italianate style storefront of this structure is made of cast iron which was forged in St. Louis and assembled on location in Omaha, Nebraska in 1880. This was the largest wholesaler of iron products in the Midwest and originally supplied horseshoes, anvils, and wagon parts to support western migration. Of course for a company to last for 140 years it must evolve, and it is now known as Baum Hydraulics Bearings and Much More.

“America, an immense territory, favored by nature with all advantages of climate, soil, great navigable rivers and lakes, must become a great country, populous and mighty; and will, in a less time than is generally conceived, be able to shake off shackles that may be imposed on her and perhaps place them on the imposers.” - Benjamin Franklin
