Manawa Lake

   Tree straddle
Sliver of land
Water circumscribe

S ometimes when on a trip, the circumstance of weather and time are not idea for a particular subject, but the possibility of returning under more favorable conditions is precluded. Knowing that the currently available transitory situation is the only opportunity, I will capture images with the intention of potential post manipulation. Thus I always have a ready supply of raw material to work with when the digital painting mood manifests. Such is the case with this image, shot directly into the sun during a quick stop on the shore of a pleasant lake in the middle of a windy non-descript day.

“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen” - Leonardo da Vinci
